My passion for sharing stories and connecting with readers has enabled me to write exceptional content and plan social media marketing strategies that drive results. I'll be graduating in April 2021 and intend to pursue a career that allows me to continue enacting positive change in my community through communication - both on and offline. I'm in my fourth year of a Political Science degree at the University of Victoria, and I also work as the Senior Staff Writer for the Martlet - UVic's Student Newspaper.
During my degree, I started a successful travel blog and wrote freelance articles for over a year. These experiences enabled me to learn an immense amount about creating content that audiences love, and using social media to accelerate the reach and engagement of that content. I doubled my Instagram following in six months and partnered with various publications on freelance content, including the Penny Hoarder and International Living.
In January 2018, I moved to beautiful British Columbia and became the Martlet's Web Editor - planning social media strategies and driving a $30 000 fundraising campaign. I was thereafter promoted to Senior Staff Writer.
I welcome opportunities to learn and expand my skills in writing, editing, and social media. For more examples of my work, please see my writing portfolio.
